Epiphany Explorers March Newsletter

Explorer Outings are open to all Epiphany families. Parents are responsible for their own children and family lunches or snacks. Please RSVP to all outings so we know how many to expect and have a way to contact you with last minute information.

We have set up recycling of plastic and metal in the school lunchroom. If your family doesn’t already recycle at home, this might be a good time to start. If you live outside the city and do not have curbside recycling, you can take plastic, metal and paper to the collection center off Branford Highway next to the fire station at the fairgrounds. If your family gardens, a compost pile is a good way to recycle plant and vegetable waste.

March Outings: (no afterschool meetings)

Saturday, March 15, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Fishing at Alligator Lake Park off Country Club Rd. Marty Redmond arranged for us to have the stocked fish pond and nearby covered pavilion for our club. We will probably have a biologist to answer questions and provide information about marine biology. This will be catch and release. You can bring your own gear or use gear provided by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation. Please RSVP to Bruce or Sandy Lyon (719-6902) by Monday, March 11 so we can have enough tackle.

Friday March 28 through Sunday March 30 Florida Trail Festival at Stephen Foster State Park in White Springs. Check the link from our web page for specific activities and times. Bruce and Sandy Lyon will be there for most of the weekend. This is a good chance for families to see what outdoor opportunities are available close to home and to learn more about The Florida Trail Association.
