Epiphany Explorers April Newsletter

www.otariinae.net/Explorers

Explorer outings, including the camping trip, are open to all Epiphany families. Parents are responsible for their own children and family lunches, drinks, or snacks. Please RSVP to Sandy Lyon 719-6902 or swl25@cornell.edu) for all outings so we know how many to expect and have a way to contact you with any last minute changes.

April Outing, Monday April 14, Suwannee Lake

This is a school holiday. We will be at Suwannee Lake from 9:30 AM until noon fishing and kayaking. We will also clean up the shore a bit. We will bring fishing gear and bait, but please bring your own if you have it. This is a shallow lake with lots of cypress trees and a fun place to kayak in protected water. Use sunscreen and wear closed toe shoes that can get wet. Bring snacks and plenty to drink. Click here for the map.

May Outing, Friday May 16 thru Sunday, May 18, Camping weekend at Stephen Foster State Park and Cultural Center in White Springs.

This is a wonderful opportunity to relax and try several outdoor activities. Even if you haven’t made it to the other outings, you are welcome. Several families have made reservations already and others planning to come in for the day and evening on Saturday.

We have reserved Cabin #5 and campsites 26 and 27 in the Gopher Loop as the base camps. If you want to camp, go on our web site www.otariinae.net/Explorers and go on the link to the Florida State Parks to make reservations through Reserve America. Sites fill up quickly.

(Reservation services are temporarily suspended from April 2 through  April 15th.  See Florida Park Information page for details.)

To make this a fun and easy weekend for everyone, we will have some planned group meals and activities.                If you are joining us please let us know ASAP
