September 2009 Blue Springs Park Outing

We had six families attend our Blue Springs Outing.  We enjoyed fishing, swimming, camping, canoeing and kayaking, campfire cooking, and a peaceful outdoor setting.  The weather was great and everyone had a good time.  See the photo album from the trip.

The October outing to Mike Roess Goldhead Branch State Park is only three weeks away.  No more cabins are available.  We have reserved one cabin as a "headquarters" and some of those bunks are available if you need sleeping space.  There are plenty of campsites and reservations are not required.  There are hiking trails, excellent biking roads, a small lake for fishing and possibly kayaking depending on water level.  The ravine hike is especially worth while.  It follows a creek up a ravine and passes through several temperature zones, each with its own plant varieties.  We may make a trip to the nearby Camp Blanding Museum for those interested in military history.

The November outing is at Ocean Pond Campground in the Osceola National Forest.  See the calendar for dates.

Hunter Printing advises us that the logo will not show up well on the orange shirts we had selected.  They recommend using white.  We need to discuss the available options.  We could go with white, we might be able to use a light gray, we might be able to add a white background to the logo, which could raise the cost, we could try to recolor the logo with brighter colors.  What are your thoughts?  The order is on hold until we get back to them with a decision.
