November 2009

Our next two outings are close by. Come join us, get to know other Epiphany families and see firsthand why the kids love to be Explorers.

Ocean Pond Campground, Osceola National Forest, November 6-8:

The Lyon family will be setting up a base camp on Friday afternoon. They will bring kayaks, canoes, a rowboat and life jackets. Hiking is nearby on a section of the Florida National Trail that passes close to the campground. There is wonderful biking on the wide and low traffic park roads. This will be a great weekend for kids to hike, bike, and boat. Join us for the day or overnight. If you plan to camp, or join us for our cookout Saturday night, please RSVP to Bruce or Sandy Lyon (719-6902) so they can hold a site for you and/or count you in on the cook out. If you want to try camping, but don’t have equipment, we have extra tents and possibly a camper that we will share.

As always, bring your own lunch, drinks, and snack. If you are camping, bring your own breakfast. We will share a cookout on Saturday evening. If you need help transporting bikes, call Bruce Lyon. Bring your own bike helmets.

Christmas Party and Open House, Sunday afternoon, December 13:

The Flores family will host a cookout/potluck and Christmas party at their home. We will be decorating gingerbread cabins. The kids will have a gift exchange of outdoor related gifts (approximate cost $5.00-$7.00). Adults may join the gift exchange if they wish. Please bring a side dish to share and your own chairs. Additional details and directions will be in the December mailing.
