The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Campground holds several free kids music camps each year.  We have taken kids to two of them and they really had a good time.  No musical experience is required, only a sincere interest.  Instruments are provided along with instruction, ending in a group concert on Sunday.    

Admission to the park, the entire music camp, and primitive camping is free.  One dinner is also provided.  In addition to traditional musical instruments, there is vocal, African hand drums, and "rythm and movement".    See the activities schedule here.

RV hook-ups are available at regular rates.  There are also opportunities for hiking and swimming in the pool and the river.  For those who don't want to camp, it is close enough to commute from Lake City.

The August camp is going to be very hot, so we are planning on attending the November one.  This will also allow time to arrange personal schedules and make reservations.    Please make your own reservations at the phone number above and let us know that you are going.  It really is a lot of fun!
